The following is a quick guide to setting up Eurdora to work with phpwebhosting.com servers. The version used in these examples is 5.0.2 but it should work the same for almost most versions. You can download Eurdora from www.eudora.com

The biggest "gotcha" is to make sure that you use a username/login name of the form:

user%yourdomain.com

Don't leave out the "%" - it's not a typo.

When you try to check your mail, Eudora will tack on "@yourdomain.com" so that it looks like it is using "user%yourdomain@yourdomain.com" but this is just the visual feedback that Eudora is giving you. It is actually sending the proper information to your email server.

This first screen shot is a general overview of what to do if have already setup an account but cannot get it to work correctly. If you use the following settings (replacing your real domain for "your domain" of course!) things will work because every phpwebhosting.com account has a "postmaster" account by default. Note: if you do not have a domain then your servers are simply your_username.phpwebhosting.com instead of mail.yourdomain.com)

You can get to this screen by going to the "Tools" menu and picking the last entry "Options..."

The next set of screen shots is the step-by-step sequence if you are setting up Eudora for the first time.

If you've already setup an account you can still get most of this wizard by setting up a new "personality" - click on the "personalities" tab at the bottom of the left-hand pane (where your In box is - it's the right-most tab with the two faces on it):

Don't worry if your screen does not show these exact screens. This is only meant as a guide, you can figure out most of what you need from these screens though. Of course remember to put in your actual username and domain for your set-up!

then right-click, choose "New..."

The new account wizard will start.
